Day 3 in the Knit You Advent Calendar 2014: Soft Footsteps
Every autumn I get the itch to make a new cabled beanie for myself. Almost like I can't wear the same two years in a row! This beanie and the first version of the cowl were knit already in 2013, but for one reason or another the patterns were never written... Until now!

Soft Footsteps
Soft and luscious cables intertwine in this set. Follow these cables and in no time you will have completed both the beanie and even quicker cowl – thanks to thick and chunky yarn!
Yarn: Beanie – 1 skein of Primo Sport by The Plucky Knitter. Approx. 150 yards (140 meters) of sport weight yarn. Cowl – 2 skeins of Snug by The Plucky Knitter. Approx. 180 yards [165 meters] of chunky weight yarn (cowl). Samples are knit in colorways Power Ballad (beanie) and Highlighter (cowl).
Needles: Beanie – US 2½ (3 mm) and US 4 (3.5 mm). Cowl – US 10 (6 mm).
Finished brim circumference for beanie: 19” (48 cm).
Finished measurements for cowl: 24” (60 cm) circumference of top edge, 28” (72 cm) circumference of bottom edge and 10” (25 cm) deep.
