before dark and adult gathering stripes

Oh, it's the last day of Feb and finally I have two new patterns for you. Hope you enjoy them!

Before Dark


Before Dark is a simple double-breasted cardigan with some easy shaping for the body and short rows for back of the neck. The cardigan is worked from the top down in one piece.

Finished chest circumference: 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50)”  [75 (85, 95, 105, 15, 125) cm].
Yarn: 1200 - 1600 yards [1097 - 1463 m] of Silky Merino DK by The Uncommon Thread or other DK weight yarn.
Gauge: 20 sts and 26 rows in Stockinette stitch

And the second design is 
Gathering Stripes - adult version


Gathering Stripes is worked from the top down in one piece. It’s knitted loosely for light weight, yet the big cowl-neck adds some warmth and texture to the piece. This adult version has also some shaping for the waist and short rows for back of the neck.

Finished chest circumference: 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50)”  [75 (85, 95, 105, 115, 125) cm].
Yarn: 1000 (1100, 1200, 1350, 1480, 1580) yards [920 (1000, 1100, 1230, 1360, 1450) meters] in MC and 240 (260, 280, 300, 320, 340) yards [230 (250, 265, 280, 300, 320) meters] in CC of Jitterbug by Colinette/King of the Jungle merino fingering by Lioness Arts or other fingering/sport weight yarn.
Gauge: 22 sts and 28 rows in Stockinette stitch

gathering stripes - adult version


Oh, I can't tell how glad it made me that many of you requested the gathering stripes pattern for adults too! The thought never occurred to me. Even when I worked the sample, I never knew how much I would love this piece.

Now I can't stop wearing it, I'm sure I must knit another one pretty soon. Oh, and I think I must make one for the rest of the family too. This will so be our family sweater...

The pattern should be ready and published by the end of Feb!

color affection


Happy February! Perfect time to publish Color Affection, the new striped shawl pattern that I know some of you have been waiting for. This is a collaboration with the Plucky Knitter and I couldn't be more thrilled.

The blue/teal/gray version is a fingering weight version of the shawl.

More garter stitch and stripes to love. Choose your favourite colours, yarn weight and cast on for this shawl that will warm your shoulders - and a bit more. The pattern includes both fingering and lace versions.

Size, Fingering version (lace version): 94½ (94½)” [240 (240) cm] long and 22 (16)” [56 (40) cm] at widest part of centre.
Yarn: 1155 - 1200 yards [1056 - 1097 m] of Merino Cashmere Nylon Fingering by The Plucky Knitter or other fingering weight yarn.
Gauge: Fingering version - 18 sts and 36 rows = 4" [10 cm] in garter stitch; Lace version - 22 sts and 52 rows  = 4" [10 cm] in garter st.
Needles, fingering version (lace version): US 6 (US 2½) [4 mm (3 mm)]
