stripe study

I was in need of some comfort knitting - easy, garter stitch and stripes. This shawl was the perfect project.

Interesting shape and wonderful yarns kept the shawl interesting enough, yet my mind was free to wander and take care of my little ones.

Pattern: Coming soon!
Yarns: BFL Sock by Uncommon Thread and Hopeasäie Sukka
Needles: 4mm

Pattern is coming, right after I get all those gray designs ready and published! Hopefully they will be available later this week (the gray ones, not the shawl pattern).

Magnanimity Cardi

Look what came in the mail! A brand new Knitscene with one of my designs in it.

I'm thrilled to have my magnanimity cardi in this issue, next to designers like Kate Gagnon Osborn and Cecily Glowik MacDonald. But to be honest, I actually thought I would feel more excited than I do. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it really is so rewarding to see various finished projects from my patterns, that having one of them in magazine is not that big of a deal.

Here's one quick (and funny)  photo I managed to take before shipping the sample overseas.

welcome 2011

I'm wishing you all very happy 2011!

A whole new year ahead of us! That means new things. And new things in my case are of course some glimpses of new designs.

So, not much to show you yet, only some quickly taken photos in poor light and extreme cold of  -24 Celsius... But many thanks to my sweet little sister for taking them.

feeling it

How did we get here? Is it really 14th of December?

At least my little boys are now so ready for Christmas. We have kept everything really simple here, mostly because we're not staying home this time. Simple wreath on the door and funny gingerbread house is enough for us (and some lights, of course!).

I just love the way our gingerbread house is decorated! I really do share similar aesthetics (and skills) as my boys...

This post is now mostly non-knitting related, but I'd like to let you know that I've set up a group for my designs on ravelry. You're all most welcome to join the group!
