paris

One Saturday in February there was themed night on television about Paris. Or maybe it was March already. Well, never mind the details. The point is, that I had nothing interesting on needles at that time and had one great idea of this light open cardi. I thought it would be done so very quickly (I tend to underestimate the time needed for everything), but it wasn't. I have been knitting it (on and off) ever since, very slowly.

Two weeks ago my mother had a big birthday party - and I happened to have the perfect dress. But needed a nice cardigan to keep me warm. I remembered my paris cardigan, was absolutely sure it would be done in a few nights and knitted away. The day of the party came and went by, but the cardi was never finished. And my interest faded away, again.

Now there will be a lot of parties this month and the next (birthdays, graduations and so on). I decided to force myself to pick up the needles and now it is finally done! Phew.

Pattern: my own
Yarn: DROPS Alpaca
Needles: 3,5 mm

I'm thrilled with the outcome, it's so sweet and fun. It's knitted in one piece from front to front and then stitches picked up from the armhole for set-in-sleeves. I folded the front edges for heavier structure and it worked just as I hoped it would.

I've been knitting a cardigan for two years... on and off... and the sad thing is ... I don't think it'll will fit me in the end.

    sigh.

This is beautiful. I tried to pull off a similar sweater but the silhouette just made me look like a sumo wrestler. Gross.

It looks so lovely on you - just the way I wanted it to look on me!! Wow.

  8. Se näytää kyllä monimutkaisempi..=) Tykään siitä että se on yksinkertainen, mutta reuna tekee sen kuitenkin ihan ihanaksi! Tykään väristä myös =)
