a dress for spring

March is here and the sun is warmly shining - spring is in the air. Is there a better way to celebrate the beginning of the spring than with a brand new dress? I don't think so. For the first time this year I wore a dress (my new dress) and it felt so springy and light - even though I think we still have more snow than in last few years altogether.

I had fun time planning this dress but the actual knitting was a bit tedious. In the end it all worked out great, the dress fits like a dream, it goes as a tunic with jeans as well and the pockets are just right. My grey phase sure continues, but this light grey is perfect for the spring. (At least in my mind.)

Pattern: my own
Yarn: DROPS Alpaca
Needles: 3 mm

I'm all happy. And oh so ready for you spring!

it looks great. i have often debated with myself about making a knit dress, but i talk myself out of it everytime. i just think that it would take forever and drive me crazy about like knitting an afghan. argh!

  33. You're patterns inspire me to knit! I hope you post this pattern! Also, I wonder how it would look in a cotton blend of some kind? Or some other warm-weather yarn (where I live it gets warm in the summer and this would be so great to cover up my pale arms without being tooooo hot!) haha
