charcoal

Charcoal, soft and sweet. Deep in color and soothing to pass through my fingers, it's truly beautiful yarn. Now I'm happy to have it on my shoulders, keeping me warm. Cold days we've had this late in the spring.

Pattern: Shalom Cardigan by Meghan McFarlane
Yarn: Cascade 220 Wool
Needles: 6mm

Changed the pattern a bit. Started with casting on 87 sts and followed increases as written, added sleeves. The finished cardigan is quite airy, but i think it's just perfect.

booties

There's a new little boy in the world! And there probably is no better gift to knit for a newborn than booties, Saartje's Booties to be exact.

Pattern: Saartje's Booties
Yarn: Zitron Trekking Pro Natura
Needles: 2,5 mm

These booties are super quick and super cute, but really small. Tiny. I'm afraid that they might be too small already - and the baby is newborn.

stripes and colors

It's always fun to get invitations to birthday parties, especially because i love to make gifts. Yesterday we had just the right kind of fun. Balloons, cakes and singing. And many - almost too many - kids running and crawling around. These were our presents for the birthday-boy and the little birthday-girl.

smokin'

This is also one of those patterns, like the Minimalist Cardigan, that I've wanted to knit for a long time. And - like my minimalist - this turned out also exactly like wanted.

Pattern: Smokin' by Jared Flood
Yarn: Madil Yarns Loden and teetee Kamena, held together
Needles: 6 mm

I love the texture of those yarns together and the colors blend nicely. Pattern was easy to follow and there was no need for modifications. My husband likes his new cardigan and so do I. I only wish he could be a bit more patient when I'm taking pictures...

minimalist

Pattern: Minimalist Cardigan by Ruthie Nussbaum
Yarn: Cascade 220 wool
Needles: 4,5 mm

The Minimalist Cardigan has been on my mind for a long time. I'm so happy i finally did knit it, the pattern is simply perfect and beautiful. In the end i didn't follow the pattern much, since i wanted to see if i could knit it in the round and without seaming. It all went well even though there was a few times of doubt. This must be the best thing i've ever knitted.
